The bottom board is the base of the hive, and serves as a platform for which the other components of the hive rest on. Bottom boards provide an entrance for the honey bees that can easily be made smaller or closed entirely. This base also serves as a closer to the bottom of the hive to protect the honey bees, and the contents inside the hive from larger predators like mice, opossums, and shrews. Contains an entrance in case the entrance of the hive needs to be reduced further!
